Ryan Sheckler at dew tour 06Ryan Sheckler is the 2006 Skate park Dew Tour Champion and  Bucky Lasek is the 2006 halfpipe Dew Tour Champion.

Ryan Sheckler 2 at dew tour 06With two Dew Cup titles now officially under his belt, Ryan Sheckler is truly a skateboarder who is sitting on top of the world. From his impressive victories at the Panasonic Open, Vans® Invitational and Toyota Challenge during the 2006 Dew Tour season, the San Clemente, California street skating powerhouse has once again proven to the world what he is made of – huge moves, a fearless attitude and enough drive and determination to last a lifetime. And at only 16 years old, he has also proven that this is anything but an ordinary feat.

Beginning with the Panasonic Open, Sheckler unloaded on the competition and took first in both the Prelims and Finals, defeating both Nyjah Huston and Jereme Rogers as well as the only skater to earn above a 90.00 in both events. Moving along to the Right Guard Open, he faced some stiff competition from the likes of Brazil’s Rodolfo Ramos and Rogers he finished fourth, leading many to question whether he had what it took to stay on top. But for the Vans Invitational and Toyota Challenge, he came back swinging hard and proved the naysayers wrong by dropping the big tricks needed to secure two amazing first place finishes.

Bucky Lasek at dew tour 06 2006 has been quite an interesting year for defending Dew Cup champ Bucky Lasek. Always pushing his skating to the limit, but failing to come up with a win until the Toyota Challenge, Lasek’s fate remained uncertain for most of the Dew Tour season. Add the fact that he had to contend with X Games gold medalist Sandro Dias, snow/skate jedi Shaun White and switch master Bob Burnquist, as well as a long list of the sport’s finest, it only compounded the pressure for the hard-hitting skate vert legend.

With two second place finishes in Louisville and Portland and a third place finish in Denver, even Lasek was questioning himself when asked about defending the 2005 title. And with Dias busting tricks like the gnar-jar, Shaun stomping the 720 and Burnquist dropping more switch tricks than you can count during their often flawless runs, it certainly didn’t help the situation. However, if there is one thing that the judges like to see, it's consistency; and as anyone who knows Lasek’s skating, that’s always the name of his vert game.
