 The 2nd Annual Vans Downtown Showdown took place on Monday, September 4th at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, California. Yes thats right, I'm talking about a movie studio. Custom ramps were made and placed in a back lot with the surrounding buildings resembling a New York City street. It was a battle of skateboard company teams as well as competition between individual skaters for $85,000. Teams at the event were Baker, Birdhouse, Element, enjoi, Foundation, Girl, Toy Machine and Real.
Here are the winners. Best day performance on each obstacle: The enjoi Dick Gauntlet - 1. Rick McCrank (Girl), 2. Dennis Busenitz (Real), 3. Alex Olson (Girl) The Element Double Down : 1. Corey Duffel (Foundation), 2. Nyjah Huston (Element), 3. Josh Harmony (Toy Machine) Girl Mini Mega : 1. Nick Dompierre (Real), 2. Rick McCrank (Girl), 3. Mike Vallely (Element) Real Hella Hyphy : 1. Josh Harmony (Toy Machine), 2. Mike Vallely (Element), 3. Cory Duffel (Foundation) Top Amature went to Nick Dompierre (Real), Top Pro went to Rick McCrank (Girl), and the Overall Top Team went to Girl.
