Jingle Bell Rock featuring Coheed and Cambria at Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta Decembe

The second Jingle Bell Rock show took place on December 15th, 2006 at the Shaw Conference Centre which featured Coheed and Cambria, Atreyu, The Fall of Troy and Ten Second Epic. The line up was different from last year, style-wise at least. I liked all the bands last year but I am only a fan of Coheed and Cambria from the bands that played this year. I met some great people from Calgary, originally from Winnipeg, at the show that I ended hanging out with the whole night. That is pretty much exactly what I did was just hang out. I spent the whole night in the beer gardens………I think? Ten Second Epic played first but I missed them due to my walk in the nice snow blowing night it was. I got lost too. Don’t ask me how, but I had to figure it out where I was when I was in a neighborhood with no English business signs. When I got there Fall of Troy was playing, I do believe. I was too busy trying to coat check and get money to watch them. The Shaw holds how many people but they only have enough room to check only a few hundred coats. I am the farthest person from being a math wizard but I think some one fucked up on their calculations in that area. I had to go wait in line, where I met the Winnipegians, forever and finally made it to the beer gardens where I would safely stay put for the rest of the night. I kind of heard Atreyu but wasn’t paying that much attention to them, but it sounded like they put on a pretty good show. I am judging this on crowd reaction only. Coheed was of course the last to play but by this time I had many beers in my belly in celebration of being out of school for the Christmas holidays. I know Coheed was good but I don’t really know what they played or if anything cool happened or not. All I know is that Claudio and I are now even. When Coheed played in Calgary on the Warped Tour a couple of years ago Claudio was so hammered from drinking a 40 of Jack and he couldn’t play the guitar very well. He also taunted people to throw water bottles at him, which they did, and the set was cut short so they only played probably for 20 minutes. Well this time it was me who was too drunk. I don’t care I had a blast. I don’t have any pictures because Trav didn’t come along so if any one had pics or video or anything to say about this show put it up, I want to hear and see what you have to say. The night ended with a smashing of an acoustic guitar in my basement. I don’t think it could of ended any better than that.
